Estimators play a critical role assisting our project management team supporting the bid process from bid preparation/submittal to award.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assures our company can perform specified jobs by evaluating job information
- Prepares job estimates and quotations utilizing a company software and various documents (Excel / Adobe PDF) and prints
- Interacts with clients via phone, email or in-person to clarify project opportunities
- Thoroughly reviews data to determine both material and labor requirements
- Consults with clients, vendors, and/or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues
- Communicates with clients to obtain support and agreement to the cost estimates
- Assists in review of completed jobs for future estimates
- Identifies cost trends to assist management in cost reduction and process improvement efforts
- Maintains and electronically files project records to include open, lost and awarded bids as well as jobs that have been completed
- Become proficient in all company provided computer software
- Notifies supervisor of significant errors and/or omissions in cost or material counts as soon as becoming aware of the problem
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Related field preferred
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong mathematical and costing skills
- Ability to negotiate pricing for bids of varying sizing and costs.
- Full understanding of Microsoft Office software
- Familiarity with Emullion industry software and/or ability or willingness to learn the program
